Kansas City Chiefs heiress Ava Hunt has settled in nicely ahead of her freshman year at Southern Methodist University.
Taking to social media on Friday, Tavia Hunt - who’s married to Chiefs owner Clark - provided an inside look at Hunt’s move-in to the dorms. In a series of photos posted to Instagram, the mother-daughter duo posed inside a brightly illuminated room with troves of pink accessories, including a Barbie-colored set of sheets, foot rest, chair, coffee maker and neon sign.
“Today, I left a piece of my heart at SMU,” Tavia began her heartfelt note. “Ava Hunt, you’ve always been a mix of sunshine and hurricane - fierce, fearless, and capable of incredible things. I’m overflowing with excitement for you, even as I tuck away my tears for later.
“I’m wading through emotions as I pass by your now too-clean room, the house is too quiet without your laughter, and Chief and I are already missing the familiar scent of your Sol de Janeiro body spray,”
Tavia shared in a heartfelt Instagram post on Aug. 23. “I know you’ll return often, and that this marks a new adventure and freedom for both of us …yet, I whisper earnest prayers for your safety, wisdom, and for a tribe of new sisters who love Jesus and love you. May God bless you and watch over you - He has never failed me, nor will He fail you.
“I’m excited for the lessons you will learn about God’s faithfulness in the coming months. Watching you shine your light and grow into the most beautiful version of yourself makes my heart beat a little happier. You’ve worked so hard to get here.

In response to her mother’s emotional sendoff, Hunt commented under the post, “I’m not crying you are” alongside a loudly crying emoji.
Prior to moving into her temporary college home, Hunt experienced quite an eventful year filled with ups and downs. The freshman chatted it up with Taylor Swift during a Chiefs game last December and presented her with a gift from the Hunt family. The pop icon was in attendance at Arrowhead Stadium to cheer on her boyfriend, Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce .
Then in March, Hunt announced that she committed to join the cheer team at SMU. But earlier this month, the 19-year-old took a major tumble down a mountain while on a hike, suffering a deep wound on her leg that required surgery. She fortunately seems to be doing just fine after the scary fall.
