Jennifer Lopez forced to prioritize 'childlike' Ben Affleck before she filed for divorce

Jennifer Lopez used a lot of her time and energy trying to make sure Ben Affleck was happy during their marriage, according to a source .

The 55-year-old singer filed for divorce from Ben last week after just two years of marriage. A source has now claimed Ben, 52, was "childlike" throughout their marriage and said J.Lo "did spend a lot of time making sure Ben was happy and had everything he needed".

They added: "The way she cared for him was almost childlike." The source claimed J.Lo's friends "constantly reminded her" that she isn't responsible for Ben's feelings .

They went on to slam Ben as being "very moody and dark at times". Following the divorce filing, however, the source said J.Lo is "very grateful for everything."

Another source close to Ben's ex-wife Jennifer Garner told People Magazine the Gone Girl star "has never handled stress well." They claimed: "He doesn’t have good coping skills. He gets easily frustrated and tends to be moody. When he’s relaxed and in a good mood, it’s amazing to be around him.

"But more often, he's upset or frustrated." However, another source said Ben is doing well in the wake of his divorce from J.Lo.

They said he is choosing to focus on his work, adding: "He thrives when he has work projects. He's been great when it comes to the kids too. He's doing exactly what he wants. He seems very happy."

The comments come following reports J.Lo found it "incredibly difficult" to end her marriage. "It’s been incredibly difficult for her that Ben chose to pull away from their marriage and move on with his life, leaving her behind," a source previously told People.

They added: "She didn't want a divorce. She wanted to figure things out. They love each other. Jennifer is not the type to just give up. It's been almost torture for her to wait around."

However, the source said J.Lo's feelings have changed since she filed for divorce and she now "seems relieved" after submitting the paperwork. Her family and friends are said to have rallied around and are surrounding the singer in "love and support". The Mirror US has approached Ben and J.Lo's representatives for comment.
