Armie Hammer has been forced to sell his beloved truck as he admitted he can no longer afford the gas .

The actor took to Instagram to share a video of himself explaining the decision, which comes after his Hollywood career was upended when he was accused of cannibalism, sexual misconduct and rape . Armie has not been working in Hollywood since the allegations were made.

Armie has explained what he's been up to since the allegations surfaced. "So, I've been back in LA for a couple of weeks now. This is my truck," he said as he pointed to the vehicle in the background. "I bought this for myself in 2017 as a Christmas gift for myself."

He continued: "I have loved this truck intensely and taken it camping and across country multiple times and on long road trips and I took it on one last road trip to CarMax. This is now an add for CarMax, this is because I'm selling my truck.

"Since being back in LA, I have put about $400-$500 worth of gas in it and I can't afford it. I can't afford the gas anymore. I mean. this truck, it took the kids home from the hospital and all that stuff. Amazing trips, amazing trips."

Looking on the bright side, he continued: "But you know what, that's okay. I got a new car, it's tiny, it's a hybrid. I'm probably gonna put about 10 bucks of gas in it a month and this is it."

Armie then showed off the inside of the vehicle as he said: "I have to clean all of this stuff out." The actor added: "Here's to new beginnings. It's my birthday tomorrow so August 28 I will be starting my birthday in a new car, in a new apartment, in a new life in Los Angeles."

The video comes just two months after Armie said he was grateful for the cannibalism and abuse allegations that led to his "career death". Speaking on the Painful Lessons podcast, he explained: "I'm actually now at a place where I’m really grateful for it because where I was in my life before all of that stuff happened to me I didn’t feel good I never felt satisfied I never had enough I never was in a place where I was happy with myself where I had self-esteem.

"I never knew how to give myself love. I never knew how to give myself self-validation but I had this job where I was able to get it from so many people that I never had to learn how to give it to myself."

The cannibalism rumors came after his ex-girlfriend Effie Angelova accused him of "violently" raping and abusing her in February 2021. At the time, Armie denied the allegations, claiming that his sexual encounters were "completely consensual, discussed and agreed upon in advance and mutually participatory."

Other women then came forward with similar allegations against the actor. He was accused of allegedly having kinks that included cannibalism. Armie repeated his denial on the Painful Lessons podcast. "People called me a cannibal. Like I ate people! What???? You know what you have to do to be a cannibal? You have to eat people," he said.
