Scotty McCreery intervened after he watched a man allegedly hit a woman in the crowd.

The country star's show came to a halt at the Colorado State Fair on Saturday as he called out the individual's behavior. After stopping the music, Scotty said: "Hey, hey, hey! Right here, right here, that's a lady you just hit, sir. Absolutely not, you just hit the lady. Police? Security? Is she OK? Get the heck out of here."

It wasn't clear if the man did end up getting thrown out, but a video showed audience members erupting in applause for Scotty nonetheless. He continued: "Absolutely not, you just hit the lady. Police? Security? Is she OK? Get the heck out of here. On God's green earth. At a Scotty McCreery show? What are you doing? Y'all let the cop know who hit the lady. That's absolutely unacceptable. Whoever you are, that's the definition of a coward, hitting a lady. Get the heck out of here."

"We can confirm that an incident took place at the Scotty McCreery concert where a man assaulted a woman and the performer stopped the show," Olga Robak, director of communications with The Colorado Department of Agriculture, told USA Today . Olga noted that the situation is still being investigated.

Another video online showed the man being escorted by security. However, it isn't clear if he was thrown out of the venue altogether.

Fans were supportive of his move, calling him a "top man" for addressing the man's actions. One wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Scotty is on his toes. He's looking at his audience & caring about them & he didn't cause a riot but put his concert on the back burner, using his influence to stop some unnecessary domestic violence. May God continue to work through his music."

Another wrote: Glad to see this despicable shit doesn’t stand at a @ScottyMcCreery show. While we as musicians playing a gig should never have to be the first line of defense, we also often do have the best vantage point in the whole venue… and if you SEE something, SAY something!"
