A beloved 39 year old woman, known for her strong work ethic and love for adventure, tragically lost her life when her car tumbled off an Arizona cliff , descending 1,000 feet. Miraculously, her dog survived the ordeal without injury.

Kristin Little, 39, had been driving with her loyal canine companion in Prescott's Thumb Butte area on a fateful Friday. In an unexpected turn of events, her vehicle veered over the edge of the cliff , according to the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office.

During the horrific descent , Little was thrown from her car , leading to her immediate death. "It is believed the victim was driving north on Thumb Butte Loop Road and veered to the left causing her to go off the road and down the mountain," deputies surmised.

The alarm was raised around 5:00pm local time, prompting sheriff deputies to descend the steep slope upon spotting the car far below. They discovered Little's body not far from the wreckage.

However, the treacherous landscape, coupled with the setting sun, forced authorities to delay the recovery of Little's body until the following morning. A group of dedicated deputies stood vigil at the site through the night to commence the rescue operation at first light, reports the Express US .

Her remains were finally conveyed to the medical examiners office the next day. As family and friends mourn, the investigation into the harrowing incident continues.

The 39 year old's beloved dog, CJ, was also in the car during the tragic accident but miraculously survived without a scratch and was later returned to her parents' home by authorities, as reported by FOX 10.

"When Krissy rolled her car, CJ must've bounced out and when the rescuers got to the location, they found CJ next to Krissy's body," Little's mother, Jinger Cutting, shared with the news outlet.

Little's family is mourning the loss of a woman who had an adventurous spirit and "made every room she walked in brighter and better."

A real estate agent based in Prescott, Little was passionate about outdoor activities like hiking and watching sunsets.

"Kristin was the light of my life," Cutting expressed to FOX 10.

"She and I hiked all the time, all the time. We would take off, and we would meet at my office or somewhere downtown, and we would just go hiking out on Thumb Butte, or we'd go hiking somewhere around the lakes."
