At the team's annual preseason Kickoff Luncheon held before the start of the NFL regular season , Kansas City Chiefs play-by-play announcer Mitch Holthus confessed his love for members of the team.
Speaking to Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes , Harrison Butker, Nick Bolton, Justin Reid, and Chris Jones, Holthus gushed about just how fond he is of each and every player. The Chiefs responded with corresponding "I love yous" back at the announcer.
He then asked Kelce if he loves him "more than Taylor [Swift]?" to which the star tight end cheerfully responded: "Maybe not."
Holthus followed up to Mahomes, saying "I won’t [mention your wife] Brittany, I won’t hold you up to that. Don’t want to get you in trouble."
This is far from the first time Kelce has comfortably admitted he loves his 14x Grammy-winning girlfriend in public. Following Kansas City's AFC Championship victory over the Baltimore Ravens , Kelce could be heard saying "I love you" to Swift.
What and where was the event? Kansas City hosted the luncheon at the Loews Kansas City Hotel downtown on Wednesday evening. Swift was not in attendance.
Adam Schefter recently fanned the Swift-Kelce engagement flames with an awkward exchange on NFL Today. Speaking with host Laura Routledge, Schefter mentioned Kelce's recent purchase of a racehorse.
Routledge pushed him and asked why he hasn't bought an engagement ring for her yet. "Laura, how do you know that Travis Kelce didn't buy an engagement ring?" Schefter asked.
The couple have not spent a lot of time together in recent weeks, with Swift still away on tour and Kelce with the Chiefs for preseason.
However, the pair are frequently in contact. According to Entertainment Tonight , “Taylor and Travis always prioritize each other even when they are physically apart. They are still in constant communication texting and FaceTiming each other.”
“Travis sends Taylor flowers and loves to shower her with surprise gifts and tokens of gratitude. Their connection is unlike anything that they’ve ever experienced before.”
Kansas City starts the 2024 season with a rematch of that AFC Championship game against the Baltimore Ravens, this time in the comfort of what will surely be a raucous Arrowhead Stadium.
Expect Swift to be in attendance, who was spotted at seven Chiefs home games last season . The Chiefs went 5-2 in those contests, including a dominant 26-7 AFC Wild Card victory over the Miami Dolphins in the freezing cold.
