Prince Harry has hopes of reuniting with his father King Charles, but a source has claimed there is one thing standing in their way - Prince William.
The Duke of Sussex has become estranged from a lot of Royal Family members, but he has been working hard to repair his damaged relationship with his dad . The pair reunited earlier this year and it's believed Harry plans to visit his father again.
However, Harry's relationship with his brother isn't quite as simple. The pair haven't spoken in years after Harry and his wife Meghan Markle lashed out at the Royal Family in their bombshell Netflix docuseries.
A source has claimed William has now become a "major barrier" for Harry and Charles' reconciliation dreams. "[William] is said to believe his own relationship with his brother is irreparably damaged and to have rebuffed the idea of a reunion," a source claimed.
Speaking to the Daily Mail , they added: "Moreover, William is toying with the idea of abolishing the religious oaths of the Coronation – potentially leading to the disestablishment of the Church of England."
Despite William's position on the matter, Charles is still believed to be keen to reunite with Harry and build a relationship with his children. The Duke of Sussex shares two kids with Meghan Markle - Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
The source explained: "Charles misses his son. He still loves Harry and wants him back for personal reasons – regardless that he and Meghan do not [want to] return to royal life."
The source said Harry will always be Charles' "much-loved son". They continued: "He has faith that Harry could return. He misses the bond they once had, and the door will always remain open to him and his family."
It seems as though the King's hopes of reconciling with his son won't be realized, however, with the Duke of Sussex remaining separate from his family at his uncle's funeral. Harry flew from the US to the UK to attend a memorial service for his uncle Lord Robert Fellowes last Thursday and his brother was also in attendance.
However, it's believed the pair didn't interact and Harry sat away from his brother at the church. "William and Harry were both there but we never saw them speak to each other and they were keeping their distance," one attendee said.
Another mourner said: "I didn't know they were there." Speaking to The Sun , they added: "They arrived very discreetly."
