A heartbroken Swiftie was caught on camera tossing her promise ring into the crowd - a year after her 'cheating' boyfriend 'proposed' at one of the pop icon's concerts.

Renata Schultz, a Taylor Swift superfan, was taken aback when her boyfriend Chris* dropped to one knee during the singer's rendition of Love Story in Pittsburgh, US, in June 2023.

However, the 20-year-old has since become an internet sensation for hurling her promise ring from a stand at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, Spain , in May.

The student confesses that her relationship with Chris was 'unstable' even before the 'proposal', but his alleged infidelity led her to sever ties with him

Renata brought the ring to Spain, where she was studying, intending to fling it into the crowd as a 'symbolic and therapeutic moment'.

Video footage captures her removing the ring during the same song Chris 'proposed' to before kneeling and throwing it while screaming.

She has since posted the clip alongside another of her embracing Chris after he gave her the promise ring, and it has been viewed over 130,000 times.

Renata, hailing from Buffalo, New York, expressed: "Throwing the ring was very therapeutic and liberating."

"It was a symbolic moment to acknowledge that I can't hold onto everything forever and that I accept I should have done it much sooner."

"It was a relief to finally let go of that because it was the last thing I had from him.I tossed the promise ring and an extension band because I didn't want any part of it anymore."

"I had a perfect aisle seat so I tried to throw them straight so they didn't hit anyone but nobody knows where they went. I explained what I was going to do to the people sitting next to me so they started recording and I held in my emotions."

"Love Story became hard to listen to and I had to skip it so I needed to change that around and make it a better memory for myself. We'd dated for a year but we had a rocky relationship from the start so it wasn't even perfect at the first concert."

"It's a tradition that people get engaged during Love Story so I'd told him about that." We'd agreed not to get engaged at the concert but he bought me a ring and got down on one knee to give me a promise ring."

"The whole section went crazy and congratulated us."

Renata said: "As soon as I found out about the other girl I knew I had to break up with him because I knew it wasn't going to work."

"At the same time he wanted to get away with what he was doing and he knew I wasn't going to allow that so we split up and I moved out."

"I'm the type of person who will always give people a million chances like I gave him and it's hard to realise that sometimes people can't change."

Renata*, who is embracing the single life, has decided to prioritize her education and let love find her instead of seeking it out.

Her TikTok followers rallied around her, showering her with support as her videos racked up over 90 comments.

Supportive comments poured in, with one user saying: "That's so brave." Another chimed in: "Babe, you lucked out. His loss." And a third added their voice: "That's cathartic."
