Green Day's show came to a halt after a security threat posed a "potential safety issue."

The rock band are playing across the country with Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid, and the Linda Lindas on the Saviors Tour. However, their Detroit date didn't go quite as planned. The band were pulled off the stage for five minutes and didn't offer too much explanation at the time. The only briefing that the crowd received was a vague statement from Billie Joe Armstrong who said: “There’s no m---rf----r that’s gonna stop us, I’ll tell you that!”

They later explained more online as they posted on social media: “Detroit! Sorry for the delay in the show tonight, Stadium security had us clear the stage while they dealt with a potential safety issue. DPD quickly resolved the situation, and we were able to continue. Thanks for understanding.”

Detroit police reportedly cited a drone as the source of their concern. The operator of the drone was identified and detained, allowing the show to proceed forward without harm.

This is the latest in security issues at concerts. Taylor Swift recently faced terrorist threats against her Vienna shows, forcing her to cancel a run of shows. Those involved in the incident were busted by police, foiling their plan which allegedly included explosives and a threat to run into Swifties at the show.

Taylor said in a statement on Instagram: "Having our Vienna shows cancelled was devastating. The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many people had planned on coming to those shows."

"But I was also so grateful to the authorities because thanks to them, we were grieving concerts and not lives. I was heartened by the love and unity I saw in the fans who banded together. I decided that all of my energy had to go toward helping to protect the nearly half a million people I had coming to see the shows in London."

She went forward with shows in London with amplified security, including a multi-ticket check process and thorough bag searches. Taylor was able to close out her European tour dates safely.
