Eric Roberts, the Dancing With The Stars contestant and brother to Julia Roberts, dropped a bombshell revelation while heaping praise on Meghan Markle, his former co-star from the hit Netflix series where she played Rachel Zane.

The Hollywood actor, known for his roles in blockbusters like The Expendables and The Dark Knight, disclosed during an on-camera interview that neither he nor Markle would be part of the anticipated Suits revival slated for production this year.

Despite stepping away from the limelight, the Oscar-nominated actor expressed confidence in Markle's ability to flourish in her new endeavors beyond the screen.

While promoting his latest movie and ahead of his DWTS stint, Roberts shared his standout memory of Markle with The Express with a touch of humor: "All I know is Megan broke up with me to be with Prince Harry and broke my heart."

He quickly followed up the jest with high regard for Markle, saying: "Meghan was just a cool chick to be around. She's very nice, very professional, very prepared, very soft-spoken and yeah, she was a cool chick man."

Roberts, all smiles, didn't shy away from singing Markle's praises despite the mixed feelings she has stirred among Royal family members and the reported tensions at Buckingham Palace. He mused: "It is fascinating, it's cool and she's a princess."

The conversation also touched on the buzz surrounding Markle's venture into the lifestyle brand space with American Riviera Orchard and the speculation about her potential political ambitions.

The 68 year old actor gushed about Meghan Markle's limitless potential, saying: "She has the potential for anything she wants, because she's cool, she's smart, she's talented, she's beautiful and she's a princess."

Roberts, who played the role of billionaire bad-boy banker Charles Forstman alongside Markle in Suits, avoided delving into any Royal controversies or political speculations about Markle, simply stating: "You asked me to talk politics? That's so dangerous. No, I just love her."

He continued to praise the Duchess, expressing his wish for her return to acting: "She's a great gal. She's a really good actor. And the screen is going to miss her. I wish she would come back. Yeah, ".

However, Roberts disclosed that neither he nor Markle have been invited to join the upcoming Suits reboot, succinctly putting it: "No. In a nutshell. No."

He also shared that his time on Suits was the most cherished TV role of his extensive career. Speaking at the premiere of his new film Protocol 7, which tackles the controversial topic of corporate pharmaceutical fraud, Roberts took the lead role in this project directed by UK GP Wakefield. Wakefield has faced significant criticism and been labeled a 'fraudster' due to his anti-vaccine stance.

Wakefield, an Englishman, moved to the US after being removed from the UK GP register for falsely linking the MMR vaccine to autism. The premiere of Protocol 7 took place in Los Angeles.

Roberts shared: "The vaccine world is great to understand. And once you understand it you realize how important it's that aside. This is a suspense thriller. We're going to have fun watching it and it's going to scare you for all the right reasons. Trust me. "

The movie has sparked controversy over allegations that the mumps vaccine leads to severe long-term health problems.

Roberts also confessed he's clueless about his four-decade-long success in Hollywood.

"I have no idea. All I know is when we went to digital about 1995 my wife comes to me and says, we're getting 30 to 50 offers every day from all over the world. You want to pursue this? I said, yes. ".

On Wednesday, ABC announced Roberts as one of the contestants for season 33, where he'll be dancing with pro Britt Stewart. He's been asked by producers to join the dance floor for two decades, but he was too occupied with film work. He seldom talks about his daughter or famous sister in press interviews.
