Jalen Hurts shows true colors with gesture to Jordan Love after injury

Jalen Hurts made sure to check in with the injured Jordan Love following the Green Bay Packers' 34-29 defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil on Friday.

It proved to be a night to forget for the Packers, who not only lost their opening game of the season but also saw one of their star players in Love limp off in the latter stages. In the final seconds, the Packers were relying on a near-miracle to get themselves back into the game.

And this is where catastrophe struck for Love, having got his legs tangled with a group of Eagles defenders, before being able to flip the ball over to running back Josh Jacobs.

Despite making the pass, the 25-year-old fell to the floor, where he was seen struggling in some distress with injury. He was then helped to his feet but required support from members of his team to make his way off the field before he was seen taking a seat on the sidelines.

Following the end of the game, it was time to celebrate for the Eagles, who were able to get their campaign off to the perfect start in South America. Quarterback, Hurts however showed his class in the aftermath, heading over to the injured Love, as the pair shared a handshake.

It is a far from ideal start for the Packers, who now risk being without one of their star men in Love. In the aftermath, Green Bay coach Matt LaFleur was quizzed on the severity, and whilst he admitted he was unsure of the extent of the issue, there was cause for concern.

"I don’t know. We’re waiting. Obviously very concerned about it. We’ll wait to find out when we do more tests,” LaFleur said in the aftermath. The head coach was clearly not happy with his team's showing on Friday, but LaFleur did not point fingers, claiming the victory rested on everybody's shoulders.

"I think it is a collective loss," he commented. "All of us are responsible. Myself, it starts with me. It then goes down to our staff, and then it goes down to our players. I challenged everybody and we have to learn from this, because I think just watching the tape, and I am not trying to take anything away from Philly.

"They battled, and they played their game, but I think there were a lot of opportunities we did not capitalize on, and when you don't do that, you get beat." The Packers will be hoping they can bounce back when they return to Green Bay, with their next NFL outing coming against the Indianapolis Colts on September 15.
