Netflix’s new action movie Rebel Ridge didn’t disappoint after the trailer for the film released last month had many highly anticipating the flick.
Rebel Ridge has seemed to meet viewers' expectations, now holding a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes . Actor Aaron Pierre held his own alongside Miami Vice icon Don Johnson, who played the adversary police chief Sandy Burnne of his character ex-marine Terry Richmond. Those who tuned into the movie were entertained by all of the suspense and intensity derived from Terry and Sandy clashing when the veteran discovered corruption with law enforcement.
Countless fans took to X, formerly Twitter , to share why Jeremy Saulnier’s latest project is so praiseworthy.
“Rebel Ridge is a goddamn triumph. A stripped down, lean, mean action thriller that's smartly political in a way that's entirely organic to the story. Aaron Pierre is an absolute rock star. ‘I gotta haunt these m---rf--kers myself.’ Superb,” one wrote on the social media platform.
A second on X shared, “I F - -king Love REBEL RIDGE. This is *Not* a guns blazing action movie, but a fully realized, deliberately paced Crime Thriller about our F- -ked Up legal system. Don Johnson has villainy down to a science. AnnaSophia Robb is on point. Aaron Pierre is a SuperStar in the making.”
Another who praised Aaron’s performance posted: “REBEL RIDGE contains one helluva movie star-making performance in Aaron Pierce. He's subtle, reluctantly brutal & complicatedly sympathetic and his deep complexity, plus taut direction by Jeremy Saulnier & a particularly great baddie in Don Johnson make this worth seeking out.”
Meanwhile, another who raved over the film overall complimented: “Just watched #RebelRidge 10/10 but man…. The minute it started I was like this the whole time.”
Some loved Rebel Ridge so much that they believed it should’ve been in movie theaters.
