    Looking for affordable housing in Stanislaus County? How to apply for low-income apartments

    Stanislaus County residents now have access to 60 additional low-income apartments at the Avena Bella complex in southwest Turlock, according to a news release from EAH Housing.

    EAH Housing, a nonprofit housing development organization, announced the completion of Avena Bella II in Turlock.

    It’s the final phase of the Avena Bella development .

    The new development features 61 apartments, with several amenities including a fitness center, on-site laundry facilities and computer learning centers, according to EAH Housing.

    “Like many other cities in California, Turlock is facing a significant housing crisis,” California State Assembly member Juan Alanis said in the release. “We’re excited to bring affordable housing to Turlock’s low-income residents through Avena Bella II, but we know there’s more to be done to meet the growing demand.”

    This partnership between EAH Housing and the city of Turlock will help the community “maintain its strong commitment to providing affordable housing,” said Alanis, who represents District 22.

    “The first phase of Avena Bella brought high-quality, affordable housing options that have since significantly benefited the lives of many Turlock families,” Laura Hall, the CEO of EAH Housing, said in the release. “This second phase will further this crucial mission when needed most.”

    How can I apply for low-income housing in Turlock?

    EAH Housing has opened the waitlist for the low-income apartments at Avena Bella II.

    Eligible residents with an annual income ranging from $13,290 to $40,020 are encouraged to apply through the EAH website .

    How many apartments are available and how much is rent?

    Avena Bella II offers a total of 61 apartments , including 21 one-bedroom apartments (measuring 634 to 636 square feet in size), 22 two-bedroom apartments (814 to 1,434 square feet) and 18 three-bedroom apartments (1,085 to 1,434 square feet).

    Rents vary, with one-bedroom units priced between $331 and $731 per month.

    Two-bedroom units cost $392 to $875 a month to rent, and monthly rent prices for three-bedroom apartments range from $426 to $1,007.
