7-year-old boy drowns in Autauga County pool

PRATTVILLE − A seven-year-old boy drowned in Autauga County on Friday night, Sheriff Mark Harrell confirmed.

Harrell said the drowning happened at a private pool in the County Line area of Autauga County. The unincorporated community is about 10 miles north of Prattville near the Autauga-Elmore county line.

The boy's name was not released.

"Right now we have no reason to believe this is anything but a horrible tragedy," Harrell said.

No other information was released out of consideration for the family, he said.
