    Colonial-Schuylkill League football Week 1 stat heroes include plenty of first-timers

    Aiden Reilly had 403 yards of offense and accounted for five touchdowns. Manny Bolmer had 272 receiving yards and four scores.

    Quick: Who do they play for?

    Not sure most Colonial-Schuylkill League football fans knew they are Catasauqua teammates.

    That’s part of what it is so cool about Week 1 every year. There are those who have moved up the depth chart, moved up from junior high or simply worked their butts off in the offseason to get better.

    There are a bunch of first timers on this week’s heroes list who will be invaluable to their teams’ success.

    Here is a look at all of those who earned their way:

    Colonial-Schuylkill League football

    Week 1 stat heroes (listed alphabetically)

    Mike Antignani, Jim Thorpe : Tied for the team high with 11 tackles, including one for loss, in a win over Palmerton.

    Matt Bodnar, Notre Dame-GP : Completed 37 of 49 passes for 604 yards and 7 TDs (all school records) in a 71-64 win over Garden Spot.

    Manny Bolmer, Catasauqua : Caught five passes for 272 yards and four touchdowns in a win over Mahanoy Area. He also returned a fumble for a score.

    Rocco DeCesare, Pen Argyl : Had a team-high nine tackles, including one for loss, against Tamaqua.

    Rory Dixon, Marian Catholic : Rushed for 191 yards and a touchdown in a win over Hanover Area.

    Chris Frame, Northern Lehigh : Ran for 130 yards and a two-point conversion, plus recovered a fumble in a comeback win over Lehighton.

    John Haubert, Palisades : Ran for 86 yards, a touchdown and two-point conversion against Executive Education.

    Charlie Hower, Marian Catholic : Made a team-high 10 tackles, including two sacks against Hanover Area.

    J’Son Johnson, Wilson : Registered a team-high 10 tackles against Northwestern.

    Jaxson Kreider, Bangor : Completed 16 of 28 passes for 182 yards and rushed for a touchdown against Saucon Valley.

    Jayse Lawrence, Lehighton : Passed for 128 yards and two touchdowns plus 33 rushing yards against Northern Lehigh.

    Cole Lazorick, Jim Thorpe : Passed for 266 yards and four touchdowns, rushed for 127 yards and two scores plus made three tackles against Palmerton.

    Grady Newhard, Northern Lehigh : Rushed for 151 yards and 2 TDs, including the game-winning 20-yard score in the fourth quarter.

    Andrew Olesh, Southern Lehigh : Caught three passes for 153 yards and a touchdown in a win over Quakertown.

    Jeremy Phelps, Panther Valley : Had a team-high eight tackles vs. Salisbury, including five for loss.

    Aiden Reilly, Catasauqua : Threw for 313 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 90 yards and a score in his first varsity start, a win over Mahanoy Area.

    Christian Rivituso, Notre Dame-GP : Scored the game-winning touchdown on an 11-yard run and made 10 tackles against Garden Spot.

    Jack Robertson, Saucon Valley : Caught a 14-yard touchdown pass, ran for a two-point conversion and intercepted two passes in a 16-7 victory over Bangor.

    Jared Rohn, Saucon Valley : Ran for 106 yards and a touchdown against Bangor.

    Jason St. Leger, Salisbury : Rushed for 112 yards and caught two passes in a victory over Panther Valley.

    Colton Sams, Southern Lehigh : The sophomore completed six of 11 passes for 228 yards and two touchdowns in his first varsity start vs. Quakertown.

    Victor Schlosser, Tamaqua : Ran for 147 yards on nine carries, caught three passes for 77 yards and intercepted a pass in a win at Pen Argyl.

    Jameson Trainer, Palmerton : Rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns and threw for 66 yards against Palmerton

    Riley Waldron, Bangor : Rushed for 56 yards, caught a 15-yard pass and made a team-high 10 tackles against Saucon Valley.

    Eli Zimmerman, Northwestern : Rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns, returned a punt 50 yards for a score, caught two passes and made four tackles in a win over Wilson.
