Body of individual recovered from Homochitto River in Franklin County

An individual’s body has just been retrieved from the Homochitto River in Franklin County.

Robert Bradford, who was there assisting with a search and recovery effort with Adams County Search and Rescue, confirmed just before 7 p.m. Sunday that the body of a deceased 19-year-old Hispanic male had been retrieved.

His identity has not been released.

At this time, it is unclear how the man wound up in the river.

“We don’t know anything else at this time,” Bradford said. “It is an ongoing investigation.”
