NATCHEZ — Three people, including one man who was out on bond from manslaughter and other charges, were arrested last week in connection with local burglaries in Adams County.

Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said on the afternoon of Aug. 18, deputies responded to a residence on Azalea Lane regarding a burglary.

After talking to the victim and discovering a few leads to act on, deputies were able to arrest Andra Lucas for burglary on Aug. 20, Christopher Owens for burglary on Aug. 22, and Travion Williams for burglary on Aug. 23.

Williams had been out on bond after he’d been indicted for manslaughter, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and aggravated assault related to the Aug. 20, 2019, accidental shooting and killing of Felicia Butler, age 40.

Williams, who had been convicted of burglary in 2014 prior to the shooting, had reportedly been illegally handling a weapon in the carport of a Morgantown Road residence when the gun went off and the bullet struck his sister-in-law, Butler, inside the house.

Williams reportedly left the residence and removed the weapon but later returned to cooperate with the investigation.

Sheriff Patten said that his road deputies worked on the more recent burglary case from start to finish, adding that he is glad they took the initiative to process and interview witnesses.

“They were able to develop a couple of suspects, and after obtaining arrest warrants, went looking for the suspects and found them over a couple of days and arrested them,” he said.
