2nd annual Healthy Heart and Resources fair takes place this Saturday

VIDALIA, La. — The Town of Vidalia, Vidalia Beautification Committee and Fidelity Court #20 Heroines of Jericho will host the second annual Healthy Heart and Resources on the River Community Information Fair this Saturday, Aug. 10 at the Vidalia Conference & Convention Center, 112 Front St.

Festivities begin at 9 a.m. and last until noon.

Guest speakers include Linda Woodside-Spears, state-certified consultant for Medicaid, Medicare and other insurances and Angie Knapik, medical consultant for diabetes, wound care, foot care, and advanced medical services.

Guests will receive information on diabetic education, wound care, foot care, advanced medical testing, home health or companion care, fraud and scams, LSU Ag Center services, growing healthy plants food and nutrition, crime prevention for the elderly, Senior Medicare Patrol, smoke detectors and triad services

They will also receive services including blood pressure, temperature and respiration checks along with healthy snacks and giveaways.

Medication disposal will be provided by the Vidalia Police Department. No liquids, needles or glass containers.
