    BASEBALL

    Division I

    Portsmouth 2, Moses Brown 1

    The Patriots scored a run in the first inning, and another in the seventh, and that was enough to give them their 10th win in 18 games. Oliver Rey went the distance, pitching a 2-hitter with 11 strikeouts. The only run he allowed was unearned. He also helped his own cause, collecting 3 hits, driving in a run and stealing a base. John Mass singled in the other run. Tucker DeWolf and Bryden Menard had the hits for the 8-11 Quakers.

    Division III

    Rogers 13, Davies 0 (Sat.)

    Matt Lynch struck out 5 while tossing a 2-hitter over 5 innings and Ben Borgueta drove in 3 runs on a pair of hits as the Vikings (13-4) cruised to victory in the mercy-rule shortened game on Saturday. Myles Robinson and Ben Cofsky had the hits for the Patriots (3-13)

    East Greenwich 7, Middletown 1 (Sat.)

    Anders Nelson pitched and hit the Avengers to their 10th victory of the season on Saturday. Nelson threw 5 innings of shutout ball, giving up just 2 hits and striking out six. Offensively, Nelson drove in 2 with 2 hits. Alex DeTomasis (2 hits, 2 walks) and Cade Thomas (4 walks) each reached base four times for EG. That duo also combined for a huge inning-ending double play with the bases loaded in the 6th when Thomas followed a catch in center field with a bullet to DeTomasis at the plate to throw out an Islander trying to tag up. Evan Levasseur had 2 hits for Middletown.

    SOFTBALL

    Division III

    Cranston East 12, Rogers 2

    The Thunderbolts plated five runs in the second inning to take command and reach the 13-0 mark in the standings. Nevaeh Fatorma led Cranston East with 2 RBI and Kiara McGarty had 3 walks and swiped 2 bases. Reliver Lexi Montalban earned the win for the 'Bolts, allowing 1 hit and no runs over 4 innings, while striking out 4. For the Vikings, Lillian Reilly and Tess Margolis each collected a hit in the loss.

    Portsmouth 3, Moses Brown 2 (Sun.)

    Rogers 13, Davies 0 (Sun.)

    BOYS LACROSSE

    Division I

    Moses Brown 15, Portsmouth 5

    Led by the play of Cam Danckak (4 goals, 4 assists) and Andrew Corsi (4 goals, 2 assists), the Quakers rolled to victory over the Patriots. Also adding to the MB offense were Recce Chase and Peter Sarnowski who had 2 goals and 1 assist each. Robert Mairs had 2 goals and 1 assist and Will Howard had one tally and 2 helpers for Portsmouth in the loss.

    Division IV

    Tiverton 13, Rogers 10

    Seth Aguiar led his team with 5 goals and 1 assist, Miles Cormier contributed 3 goals and 2 assists and Owen Messinger had 2 goals and 3 assists as the Tigers (9-5) topped the Vikings (10-6). David Rivera had 5 goals and 1 assist and Max Martland had 3 goals for Rogers, which will face Tiverton again in a quarterfinal playoff game later this week.
