Tacoma’s Metropolitan Market is implementing a new delivery service.

Amazon now offers same-day grocery delivery from “select Metropolitan Market locations,” according to Tuesday’s release, including Tacoma, Sammamish and Seattle’s Queen Anne and Crown Hill neighborhoods.

To mark the launch, Amazon is offering Prime members “free delivery on their first three Metropolitan Market orders of $10 or more,” according to the release.

You must be logged in to your Amazon account to determine whether the service delivers to your address. To use the service, go to amazon.com/metropolitanmarket .

The Tacoma grocer is at 2420 N. Proctor St.

For Prime members, Amazon also offers a monthly ($9.99) or annual ($99.99) grocery delivery subscription “which offers unlimited grocery delivery on orders over $35 across Amazon Fresh, Whole Foods Market, and other grocery and specialty retailers, including Metropolitan Market.”

Reduced-rate options are also available for registered EBT card holders for Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods Market.

The expectation is the delivery service will grow to more Met Market locations, such as Gig Harbor.

“We look forward to expanding our two-hour delivery window offering to more Metropolitan Market locations in the future,” Christian Seitel, head of U.S. Grocery Partnerships for Amazon, said in a statement.

“We are thrilled about our new relationship with Amazon, which will allow us to enhance our ability to serve our guests in a new, exciting, and convenient way,” said Ron Megahan, CEO of Metropolitan Market, in a statement.
