State Auditor Shad White considering run for governor

State auditors are in an ideal position to identify wasteful spending, but they’re not always so well situated to make it stop. That’s why Shad White is considering a run for Governor when Tate Reeves’ term ends in 2028.

“I’ve done a ton of work over the past six years uncovering inefficiencies,” White said. “As State Auditor, you can find it but you can’t always fix it. I want my kids to live in a state that’s as strong as it can possibly be. That means making sure we’re eliminating bloated, wasteful spending and getting the best possible return on the investment of our state tax dollars.”
