    Oklahoma election results 2024: Tulsa mayor race headed to runoff, OKC hotel tax passes

    Oklahomans headed to the voting booth Tuesday to decide local issues like taxes, school bonds and legislative seats.

    The next time Oklahomans will vote will be in the general election on Nov. 5, 2024.

    Unofficial results: Tulsa mayor race headed to November election

    Tulsa's mayoral race will be decided in November as no candidate has earned more than 50% of the vote, unofficial voting totals show.

    With 100% of precincts reporting, three candidates earned about 30% of the vote, but as the top two vote-getters percentages equal at least 50%, only those two candidates will face off in a runoff election on Nov. 5.

    Moving on in November are Monroe Nichols with 18,729 votes or 33.10% and Karen Keith with 18,457 votes or 32.62%.

    Close behind, Brent L. VanNorman had 18,019 votes or 31.84%.

    Further behind, Casey Bradford had 2% of the vote and Kaleb Hoosier, John Jolley and Paul Tay each had less than 1%.

    Unofficial results: OKC hotel tax passes

    Unofficial voting results show Oklahoma City has approved raising the local hotel occupancy tax in an attempt to generate more funding for tourism promotion.

    Votes for the proposition, or yes, were at 21,472 votes or 66.43% of the vote, with 99% of precincts reporting. Votes against the proposition, or no, were at 10,851 votes or 33.57%.

    Oklahoma school bond election results: Handful of proposals fail, but some pass

    School bond proposals on opposite ends of the Oklahoma City metropolitan area – in Guthrie and Purcell – passed by wide margins during Tuesday’s election, but voters in the Blanchard, McLoud, Wellston and South Rock Creek districts rejected proposals.

    Election results: Legislative races shuffle incumbents

    Oklahomans returned to the polls and Tuesday, firing the three state lawmakers who were forced into runoff elections and finalizing seven other races for the November ballot. In addition to the legislative elections, some voters saw bond and tax issues on their ballots.

    Tulsa mayoral results: Karen Keith, Monroe Nichols close as over half of precincts reporting

    So far, unofficial voting totals place Karen Keith and Monroe Nichols in the lead in the Tulsa mayoral race.

    With 57% of precincts reporting, Keith has 9,329 votes, or 33.24%. Nichols has 9,813 votes or 34.96%.

    Behind them is Brent L. VanNorman with 8,344 votes or 29%.

    Further behind, Casey Bradford has 2% of the vote and Kaleb Hoosier, John Jolley and Paul Tay each have less than 1%.

    If no candidate earns more than 50% of the vote on Tuesday, the top vote-getters whose vote totals equal at least 50% will face off in a runoff election on Nov. 5.

    Yes votes for OKC hotel tax leading with half precincts reporting

    With over half of precincts reporting, voting totals show Oklahoma City in favor of raising the local hotel occupancy tax in an attempt to generate more funding for tourism promotion.

    Votes for the proposition, or yes, were at 13,753 votes or 66% of the vote, with 63% of precincts reporting. Votes against the proposition, or no, were at 7,116 votes or 34%.

    Tulsa mayor results: Absentee mail, early voting favor Karen Keith, Monroe Nichols

    So far, mail-in and early voting totals place Karen Keith in the lead in the Tulsa mayoral race, with 2,439 votes, or 45%. Following is Monore Nichols with 1,746 votes or 32%, and Brent L. VanNorman with 1,061 votes or 20%.

    Behind them, Casey Bradford has 2% of the vote and Kaleb Hoosier, John Jolley and Paul Tay each have less than 1%.

    If no candidate earns more than 50% of the vote on Tuesday, the top vote-getters whose vote totals equal at least 50% will face off in a runoff election on Nov. 5.

    OKC hotel tax: Mail-in, early voting leans toward passing proposition

    So far, mail-in and early voting totals show Oklahoma City in favor of raising the local hotel occupancy tax in an attempt to generate more funding for tourism promotion.

    Early voting and mail-in ballots voting for the proposition, or yes, were at 3,652 votes or 68%. Votes against the proposition, or no, were at 1,677 votes or 31%.
