NEENAH - The Interstate 41 Rehabilitation Project remains underway between Neenah and Grand Chute, with lane closures and nightly ramp closures.

Meanwhile, to the north, lane restrictions continue overnight between Grand Chute and De Pere, as part of the I-41 expansion project .

Here's what to know about what's open and what's closed this week:

Ongoing closures run through end of August, September

The northbound on-ramp to the interstate from Winnebago County II/Winchester Road remains closed through mid-September, with drivers detoured from County II to Winnebago County CB to U.S. 10 and back to I-41.

There is an ongoing single-lane closure on I-41 northbound between Main Street and U.S. 10/State 441, which is also expected to end in mid-September.

There's also an ongoing single-lane closure on I-41 northbound between Breezewood Lane and State 15, expected to end on Sept. 4. Southbound traffic between Breezewood and State 15 is also under a single-lane closure, though that one is expected to end in late August.

Nightly ramp closures continue during the rest of this week

    • Northbound off-ramp to II, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
    • Northbound off-ramp to State 114/Winneconne Avenue, 6 p.m. to 7 a.m.

The following ramps will close Thursday night:

I-41 traffic under those overpasses is expected to have "periodic" overnight closures, according to the I-41 Project website . Work at Capitol is expected to complete some time this fall, while work at Rose Hill is expected to last until mid-September.

Work progresses on Outagamie County N in Little Chute

Work also continues at the interstate's interchange with Outagamie County N in Little Chute . The bridge over I-41 is closed though September, with the northbound I-41 on- and off-ramps closed through August and the southbound ramps closed through September.

    Work underway on Southbridge Interchange

Finally, work on the Southbridge Interchange is underway. French and Southbridge roads are closed from Creamery Road to Innovation Court now through 2026, and a temporary road is under construction to maintain access from Southbridge to Innovation, according to the project website .

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation in May purchased a combined 37.9 acres of land west of I-41 along Orange Lane, in the town of Lawrence. The land purchases are two of WisDOT's larger land acquisitions related to the I-41 expansion project between Appleton and De Pere and the county's South Bridge Connector plan , Missy Kok, WisDOT's I-41 Project spokesperson, told the Green Bay Press-Gazette at that time.

The South Bridge Connector , when completed, will connect Heritage and Monroe roads, on the Green Bay area’s east side, to the intersection of Scheuring Road and Williams Grant Drive on the region's west side.
