NEENAH — Nearly 5,000 customers dealt with power outages on Monday night due to thunderstorms, according to We Energies.

The electric utility company told The Post-Crescent via email that the outages were due to lightning striking equipment at one of its substations just before 9 p.m. on Monday.

Crews worked throughout the night, into early Tuesday morning. Power was restored to everyone at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service Green Bay, a severe line of thunderstorms also moved across the Fox Valley early Tuesday morning, with wind gusts from 40 to 60 mph.
