    JDCHS Beta wins on state level

    National Beta members from Jefferson Davis County High School recently attended the Mississippi Senior Beta State Convention. Members brought home several awards from the convention held at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum and Convention Center in Biloxi Feb. 19- 21.

    First place in Accessorized Design was awarded to Ashten Applewhite.

    Kamora Hathorne received second place in Speech. Angelo Magee participated in Performing Arts Solo Dance and was awarded third place.

    Teasia Milton, Mynaila Carrol, Kyle Marin, and Kameron Brown brought home fourth place in Marketing and Communication.

    National Beta State Convention allows students the opportunity to compete in various academic and STEM-based, virtual and performing arts competitions. These victories at the state level provide an opportunity to compete at the national level. The National Convention will be held at the Savannah International Convention Center in Savannah, Georgia during Summer 2024.

    National Beta promotes the ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership among elementary and secondary school students.
