CANTON TWP. – A motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle accident Friday night at the intersection of Faircrest Street SW and Dueber Avenue SW.

Brak V. Hayhurst, 47, of Canton was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said. He was operating a 2009 Yamaha motorcycle southbound on Deuber at 11:15 p.m. when he collided with a westbound 2006 Subaru driven by Nicole A. Christman, 21, of Canton in the intersection, the patrol said.

Hayhurst was not wearing a helmet at the time, the patrol said. Christman, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured.

Alcohol and drug use are not suspected to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.

Canton Township Fire and EMS, Stark County Coroner’s Office, and Rupple’s Towing were at the scene to assist.

Hayhurst is the third motorcyclist killed in a crash this week. Timothy Carpenter, 37, of Canton , died in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday in Perry Township. And Devin Wile, 24, of Navarre died in a one-vehicle crash Tuesday after he struck a tree on the road in Bethlehem Township.
