Canton woman arrested for allegedly killing, eating cat, jail records show

CANTON − A 27-year-old Canton woman was arrested Friday on charges related to killing and eating a cat.

Canton police arrested Allexis T. Ferrell around 10:45 p.m. in the 1100 block of 13th Street SE, according to Stark County Jail records. She is accused of killing a cat by "stomping its head" and then eating it in a residential housing complex.

Ferrell was charged with prohibitions concerning companion animals, a fifth-degree felony, and misdemeanor charges of injuring animals and disorderly conduct.

A message left with a Canton police spokesman was not immediately returned.
