    Beatles tribute show Saturday

    CANAL FULTON – Hard Day’s Night, a Beatles tribute show, will perform from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday at St. Helena Heritage Park,123 Tuscarawas St. NW, as part of the Canal Fulton Summer Concert Series.

    Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Bring a lawn chair for seating. The on-site parking fee is $15.

    Canton Regency hosts community bingo

    CANTON – Canton Regency Senior Living, 4515 22nd St. NW, will host community bingo for residents and guests at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

    Attendees can win prizes and enjoy refreshments, and newcomers are welcome. This event is free and open to the public, but an RSVP is requested by calling 330-477-7664.

    Gospel concert Thursday at Hartville Kitchen

    HARTVILLE − Gospel quartet the Pine Ridge Boys will perform from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Hartville Kitchen, 1015 Edison St. NW.

    Learn about edible and medicinal plants

    LAKE TWP. – Stark Parks will hold an edible and medicinal plant hike from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Quail Hollow Park, 13480 Congress Lake Ave. NE.

    Meet at the Quail Hollow Carriage House for a short presentation followed by a hike to identify plants and their uses. Participants will not be harvesting or consuming wild plants during this program. Pets are not permitted.

    Great Trail Arts and Crafts Festival next two weekends

    MALVERN − The Great Trail Arts and Crafts Festival will be held 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Aug. 25, Aug. 31, Sept. 1 and 2 at the Great Trail Festival Grounds, 6331 Canton Road (state Route 43).

    The Great Trail Festival is a celebration of American folk art, with contemporary and country crafting. The French and Indian-era festival includes live music, clog dancing, show fiddlers, Scottish pipers, historical demonstrations, a live buffalo herd, battle reenactments and tomahawk throwing.

    Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for youth ages 12-18, and free for children younger than 12 when accompanied by an adult. Group rates are available. No pets permitted. Parking is free. For more information and an event schedule, visit greattrailfestival.com.

    Massillon Museum offers cartooning workshop

    MASSILLON − The Massillon Museum will offer a pen and ink cartooning workshop with Douglas Laubacher from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday for adults and children ages 8 and older. Participants will experiment with the analog tools that cartoonists use to finalize their work — India ink, dip pens and brushes.

    Registration is limited and can be completed at MassMu.org/Tickets or by calling 330-833-4061. The class fee ($25 per person or $20 per Massillon Museum member) includes supplies.

    Laubacher is a cartoonist and art educator from Northeast Ohio. His comic strip, Unbound, can be read in the Tuscarawas County Bargain Hunter. A member of the National Cartoonist Society, he teaches cartooning in art centers and libraries throughout the region.

    Concert for Parrotheads on Saturday

    MASSILLON − Bluffett - A Celebration of Jimmy Buffett will perform in concert from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday at the Lions Lincoln Theatre, 156 Lincoln Way E.

    Minerva’s Family Fun Day is Saturday

    MINERVA − Minerva’s Family Fun Day, hosted by local churches of the community, will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Municipal Park, 123 Brock Ave.

    There will be free family activities, food, bounce houses and door prizes. An outdoor movie on the lawn at the amphitheater will follow. In case of rain, the movie will be at the Great Trail Community Church gymnasium, 16561 Liberty Church St. SE.

    Free brass quintet concert Thursday

    NORTH CANTON − A brass quintet from the Canton Symphony Orchestra will perform a free concert from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the North Canton Civic Center, 845 W. Maple St. The event is part of Stark Parks’ and the Canton Symphony Orchestra’s Summer Serenades in the Park.

    The Canton Symphony Chorale, a subsidiary ensemble of the 100-voice Canton Symphony Chorus, will perform before the concert, starting around 6:10 p.m. The group performs a cappella choral music of all styles and compositional periods.

    Auditions for Vocal Fusion on Friday and Saturday

    NORTH CANTON − Vocal Fusion, an a cappella singing group, will hold auditions for its second season from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday in the Music Suite at Community Christian Church, 210 N. Main St.

    Catfish with Cops is Saturday at Sippo Lake Marina

    PERRY TWP. – Stark Parks will hold a Catfish with Cops event beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday, at Sippo Lake Marina, 5300 Tyner St. NW.

    This event is intended to promote positive interactions between law enforcement and citizens while enjoying fishing. This is a catfish contest only, and only shoreline and dock fishing will be permitted.

    There is a donation of $5 per person that supports the Stark County Park District Ranger Explorer Program. Registration will begin at 5 p.m. All catfish must be checked in by 11 p.m. to be counted. Prizes will be awarded at 11 p.m. For more information, call Stark Parks at 330-477-3552

    Glow Trail Challenge is Saturday

    PIKE TWP. − Stark Parks will hold the Discovery Night and Glow Trail Challenge from 7 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday at Fry Family Park, 2533 Farber St. SE.

    The activities will begin at 7 and end at 9 p.m., followed by the glow trail challenge from 9 to 10 p.m. Activities will include hoverball archery, kite flying and nocturnal animal activity stations. Relax and enjoy the fire with s'more kits available for $1 (cash).

    The trail challenge involves walking or running three miles in the dark while navigating the unique topography of the park. The race check-in will start at 8:45 p.m. at the visitor's center, and participants can begin the challenge any time before 9 p.m. This family-friendly event is open to all ages, but the trails are not conducive for strollers.

    The event is free, but registration for the trail challenge is $5 (cash only at the door). This event will be canceled in the event of inclement weather. For more information, visit starkparks.com or call 330-477-3552.

    Elton John tribute show Thursday

    PLAIN TWP. – The Legacy Park Amphitheater, 2600 Easton St. NE, will host Elton Rohn – A Tribute to Elton John from 7 to 8:45 p.m. Thursday as part of its Summer Concert Series.
