    CHURCH HILL — Church Hill scored first, but Sevier answered quickly and cruised to a 10-1 varsity middle school baseball win over the Panthers in the first of two five-inning games on Monday (April 15).

    Sevier jumped out to an early lead in game 2 and never looked back en route to a 13-4 victory to complete the sweep.

    In between games, CHMS recognized eight members of its baseball team and their families during an eighth-grade night ceremony on the field.

    In the first game, Sevier’s Lucas Patrick and Lucas Colobro combined to shut down the Panthers’ offense. Patrick earned the win, throwing 3 2/3 innings. He gave up one run one four hits, walked two and struck out four. Colobro pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief, allowing just two hits with no walks and one strikeout.

    Haiden Garst had two hits, including a double, and drove in the Panthers’ lone run. James Morgan scored the run and had one hit. Graycen Feagins was 2 for 3 with a double. Hayden Grigsby had the only other hit.

    Starter Carson Williams took the loss, allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits with four walks and three strikeouts in three innings. Kingston Manis finished the game and gave up five runs (four earned) on four hits with two strikeouts.

    Each team committed four errors in the first game. In the nightcap, Church Hill gave up 11 hits and committed six errors to help the Warriors cruise to the 13-4 victory.

    Sevier’s Cooper Lockhart picked up the win with 1 2/3 innings of no-hit baseball. He walked two. McNair pitched the final 3 1/3 innings, allowing four runs on two hits with eight walks and six strikeouts. Church Hill used five different pitchers in the game, but starter Dane Blonski was tagged with the loss. He allowed five runs (three earned) on two hits with two walks and two strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings.

    Colobro went 3 for 4 with three doubles and drove in four runs to lead the Warriors’ offensive attack. Hayden Grigsby and Hayden Willis had the Panthers’ only hits, both doubles. Willis drove in two runs.

    TA Dugger 13, CHMS 2

    ELIZABETHTON — TA Dugger scored five runs in the fifth inning to defeat Church Hill 13-2 on Tuesday (April 16). The Cyclones racked up 13 hits in the game.

    Church Hill, which scored one run in each of the final two innings, had just four hits — one each by Dane Blonski, Haiden Garst, Graycen Feagins and Braydon Alexander.

    Greeneville 6, CHMS 1

    GREENEVILLE — Greeneville Middle School outhit Church Hill and took advantage of five errors to take a 6-1 baseball win on Wednesday (April 17).

    Church Hill managed just two hits in the game, one by Eli Bowery in the leadoff spot and the other by Branson Cordell.

    Alston Richards started and earned the win for Greeneville, giving up just one hit in three scoreless innings. He walked four and struck out four. Dane Blonski was tagged with the loss. He gave up six runs (three earned) on six hits with no walks and one strikeout in five innings.

    The Panthers will return to action Monday (April 22) at Tennessee Middle School. They’ll host Rogersville City on Tuesday (April 23) and play at Bulls Gap on Wednesday (April 24) as the regular season winds down and area tournaments begin.
