    CHURCH HILL — Sullivan Central remained unbeaten in Area 1-AA football action with a 44-6 win over Church Hill on Thursday night at J.W. Salley Field inside Mike Johnson Memorial Stadium.

    Elijah Bowery stepped up on defense and offense, scoring the only Church Hill touchdown in the fourth quarter.

    Cayden Bowen also played a great game defensively and was in on several tackles throughout the game. Other highlights for CHMS included Silas Jones with a big punt return and Hayden Grigsby with some key plays on defense.

    Gavin Hensley started his first game at center and turned in a solid performance. Ethan Collier also played a great game on the offensive line, according to CHMS coach Adam Hagood.

    Church Hill hosts Rogersville Middle School on Tuesday (Aug. 27). Next week, the Panthers will host West Greene on Thursday (Sept. 5). Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. each day.

    Providence Academy 48, RMS 0

    JOHNSON CITY — Providence Academy walloped RMS on Thursday to even the Warriors’ record at 1-1 on the season.

    RMS will travel to Church Hill for a rare Tuesday game (Aug. 27) before returning home to host Surgoinsville on Thursday (Aug. 29) for Homecoming at Davis Field. Both games kick off at 6 p.m.

    N. Greene 38, Surgoinsville 16

    SURGOINSVILLE — Halen Mayes ran for two touchdowns in the Eagles’ loss to North Greene.

    The Eagles travel to Rogersville Middle School on Thursday (Aug. 29) for the Warriors’ homecoming game. Kickoff is at 6 p.m.
