Celia Stone: Rest is reward for trusting God
In chapter four of the letter to the Hebrews, the author writes to Jewish Christians about the promise of entering God’s rest. He reiterates that God rested on the seventh day and that almost every adult Israelite who wandered in the desert all or part of those 40 years did not enter the rest of the Promised Land. Due to their lack of faith and their short memory regarding God’s miraculous rescue at the Red Sea, the land flowing with milk and honey was never...
Mitchell Oakley: It's up to voters to hold officials accountable
What do we do when we vote for politicians who disappoints us once in office? Maybe they campaigned on a particular topic, and once elected voted opposite of the stance taken on the campaign trail. What if that voting trend continues to the point that it becomes so obvious that the officeholder does not the match the person they claimed to be? What if politicians become so arrogant and power...

Someone please explain the Taylor Swift issue
I’m not a Swiftie, the term used for those who love Taylor Swift. I don’t dislike her, I’m simply not a huge fan of Taylor Swift’s music. I grew up on my parent’s music and then, when I was old enough to pick my own music, I fell in love with hip-hop. Taylor Swift’s music is very popular, but it isn’t my cup of tea. When I have been online...

Matthew Stevens: Forsythias are an indicator of the coming spring
I am a big proponent of plants that have interest in more than one season. By that I mean they look good beyond just the period of their bloom. A plant that has nice flowers in the spring, colorful foliage or berries during fall and an attractive shape year round often brings more value to a landscape than a plant that blooms for two weeks or so and then disappears. Despite this, there are some plants that make such an impact when they bloom that they will always have a fit in landscapes, whether they bring anything else to the...
