Bank of America will close its Stockton location at Park West Place this October.

The company told The Stockton Record via email on Wednesday that they decided not renew their lease at Trinity Parkway when it expires. The Financial Center & Drive-Thru ATM, located at 10834 Trinity Parkway , will permanently close on Oct. 22, company officials stated.

The closure is a result of clients managing their finances digitally and the company's constant evaluation of their retail footprint, the company stated.

"The way our clients manage their financial lives and do business with us has rapidly evolved, with 90% of clients interacting with us digitally while the other 10% is via phone and in-person as most transactions can easily be done at ATMs, mobile and online," Colleen Haggerty, a spokesperson for Bank of America wrote. "We will consolidate resources and relocate employees to other nearby financial centers, as well as locate a new ATM."

Haggerty stated they are finalizing plans to locate a new ATM "nearby."

Emails were sent to customers announcing the upcoming closure in July.

"The nearby financial center at 10834 Trinity Parkway, Stockton, CA you may have visited in the past or where you opened your account," the email states. "Your account will stay the same, and we have specialists ready to provide you with the advice and guidance you need."

Letters were also sent to customers who use the center at least 90 days in advance of the closure, company officials stated.

"Stockton is an important market for Bank of America, where we have served the community for over 105 years," Haggert wrote. "Our financial center network is core to our business, and we currently have five financial centers in Stockton with an additional four in other parts of the county, and we’ve invested into renovating all of these centers in recent years."

Stockton's location is not the only one closing. About 38 miles from Stockton, the Bank of America Financial Center at 337 Main St. in Pleasanton currently temporarily closed will not reopen.

"This Financial Center will not re-open and will close on [Aug. 20, 2024]" the Bank Of America website states.

According to La Grada, a Barcelona based news company reported in June of " mass closures of 15 Bank of America Branches in California ."

"They started the process a few years ago, but they have ramped up the closings after the pandemic saw an even bigger drop on visits to physical locations and online systems were updated and upgraded to be able to accommodate most of the relevant operations," La Grada reported then.
