Two people were arrested on Tuesday after an altercation at Delta Sierra Middle School in Stockton, police said.

Officers responded around 9:13 a.m. to the school at 2255 Wagner Heights Road after someone reported a disturbance involving parents, according to the Stockton Police Department.

The school was placed on a lockdown at 9:28 a.m., while officers conducted an investigation.

Officer David Scott, a spokesperson for the Stockton Police Department, said police arrested 29-year-old Alexa Brown for battery on school grounds and child abuse related charges. Brown was booked into San Joaquin County Jail.

Scott said a 15-year-old girl was also arrested for battery on school grounds and trespassing on school grounds. She was booked into San Joaquin County Juvenile Hall.

The victim of the altercation was a 12-year-old girl, according to Scott. It's unclear if the girl sustained any injuries, but Scott said medical attention was declined.

It's also not clear what led up to the fight or what the relationships between the suspects and the victim are.

The police department declined to provide additional details "due to the integrity of the ongoing investigation."

The lockdown was lifted at 10:23 a.m. and a message was sent to families to notify them of the incident, according to Chelsea Vongehr, a spokesperson for the Lodi Unified School District.
