A Red Owl Coffee Company and a seafood restaurant are coming to Warner Robins as part of a larger, million-dollar development in the works off South Houston Lake Road.

The Warner Robins location will be the second Middle Georgia store of the popular Georgia-grown coffee shop brand. It’s also one of five new stores planned across the state, according to the company’s website.

The coffee shop and restaurant are to be built on just over 2 acres of undeveloped land at the corner of South Houston Lake Road and Wrasling Way, according to Allen Shackelford, owner of Tobesofkee Crossing LLC.

The Red Owl Coffee Company at 1272 South Houston Lake Road will include a dining area and drive-thru, according to site plans.

The 5,500-square-foot seafood restaurant will be built on the right side of the coffee shop when facing the property from South Houston Lake Road, plans show. A shared parking lot will be in the middle.

Shackelford declined to name the seafood restaurant based on a non-disclosure agreement.

Plans for permitting have been submitted to the city for the Red Owl Coffee Company, with plans for permitting for the seafood restaurant expected to be submitted in the fall, Schackelford said.

Under Tobesofkee Lake Crossing LLC, Shackelford is under contract to purchase seven parcels of land that stretch along South Houston Lake Road from the included coffee shop/restaurant site and up to Advanced Medical Associates at 1282 South Houston Road.

The properties, sandwiched between South Houston Lake Road and Moran Street, total nearly 9 acres with a combined property value of just over $2.42 million, according to Houston County property tax records.

All of the properties were annexed into the city of Warner Robins on Aug. 13 with general commercial district zoning, according to unofficial meeting minutes from the Warner Robins Planning and Zoning Commission.

Shackelford declined to disclose plans for the remaining properties at this time.
