Will Levis' week certainly didn't end well.

Thursday's Tennessee Titans joint practice vs. the Seattle Seahawks ended with the two teams simulating a classic two-minute drill . The coaches put 1:10 on the clock. The Titans ' first-team offense lined up for a 1st-and-10 from their own 40-yard line. Levis lined up in the shotgun with slot receiver Mason Kinsey to his right. Kinsey ran an out route off the line of scrimmage, breaking toward the sideline. Devon Witherspoon, the Seahawks' budding star at cornerback, read the play immediately, undercut Levis' throw and intercepted it, ending the Titans' threat.

"That wasn't what I was hoping to get out of that period," Titans coach Brian Callahan said after practice. "It just wasn't good execution all the way around. We threw an interception to end the game. It's good coaching to teach off of, but I was very disappointed in that. I was hopeful we'd get better work off the operation than just throwing a pick on the first play and that's it."

Before Witherspoon undercut him, Levis was actually having a nice day, or at least bouncing back fairly well after struggling to get in rhythm Wednesday. He completed both of his attempts in the full-field call-it period, including a 30-yard completion to receiver Treylon Burks on a slant route manned up against Witherspoon on the first play of the period.

He followed that by finishing 2-for-5 in a red zone team period, throwing one touchdown to Kinsey. Two of his three incompletions were balls thrown away with pressure in his face, and the third involved Witherspoon breaking up a pass in the back corner of the end zone intended for Ridley.

Additionally, Levis completed five of his nine attempts in 1-on-1 drills with receivers running solo routes against cornerbacks.

Callahan said backup quarterback Malik Willis will start the Titans' preseason game against the Seahawks on Saturday (6 p.m., WKRN-2) and that starters either won't play or will be limited to very small situational roles. That means Levis' week dealing with the Seahawks is almost certainly over after the pair of joint practices.

Talking about his performance Wednesday after the first practice, Levis called the day "up and down."

"I think it was good," Levis said. "I think we just need more consistency. I think we showed some good things, especially for me the first time in a practice environment going against another team here in the facility. It felt good. There were no nerves for anybody ... It was a good test for us and I'm proud of how we came out there and operated, but we've got to be more consistent. We got good things done though."
