PORT HURON — Here are some notable results from Friday's high school football games in the Blue Water Area.
Armada 14, Croswell-Lexington 0
Jackson Malburg rushed for two touchdowns as Armada (2-0, 1-0 BWAC) beat the Pioneers for the first time since Sept. 17, 2004. In doing so, the Tigers snapped a 19-game losing streak to their conference rival. They'll visit Algonac on Sept. 13.
Up next for Cros-Lex (1-1, 0-1 BWAC) is a home game against Richmond on Sept. 13.
Almont 45, Imlay City 15
Luke Winkler ran for two touchdowns to lead Almont (2-0, 1-0 BWAC). He also returned a punt 55 yards for a score. The Raiders welcome Yale on Sept. 13.
Imlay City (0-2, 0-1 BWAC) was led by quarterback Matt Evans, who finished 8-of-15 passing for 105 yards and one touchdown. The Spartans entertain North Branch on Sept. 13.
Madison Heights Lamphere 21, Port Huron Northern 13
Port Huron Northern (0-2) will travel to Utica Ford on Sept. 13.
Marine City 55, Madison Heights Madison 14
Marine City (1-1) will meet its fellow East China Stadium tenant, St. Clair, on Sept. 13.
BWAC BATTLE: Bolstered by Bonnetti brothers, Richmond overpowers Yale in BWAC opener
Marysville 31, Hazel Park 14
Brady Wright was 2-of-5 passing for 48 yards and one touchdown for Marysville (1-1). Jackson Dinsdale added one score on the ground while Ben LaValley returned a punt for a touchdown.
Up next for the Vikings (1-1) is a road game against Center Line on Sept. 13.
North Branch 56, Algonac 0
Algonac (1-1, 0-1 BWAC) will welcome Armada on Sept. 13.
Port Huron 24, Warren Fitzgerald 6
Port Huron (1-1) has its home opener against Warren Mott on Sept. 13.
St. Clair 57, Warren Lincoln 14
Up next for St. Clair (2-0) is a matchup with archrival Marine City on Sept. 13.
Player of the Week
On Friday, Almont's Luke Winkler was voted the Times Herald's Prep Football Player of the Week for Week 1 . He scored two touchdowns in the Raiders' 35-0 win over Marysville on Aug. 29 . The senior returned the opening kickoff 82 yards for a score. Then in the third quarter, Winkler found the end zone on a 3-yard run.
