A new Chick-fil-A restaurant is set to open this fall in Fort Gratiot.

The chicken restaurant will be located at 4783 24th Ave., in front of the Meijer in Fort Gratiot.

Chick-fil-A Inc., which operates more than 3,000 restaurants in the continental United States, released a statement saying the new restaurant will create between 80 and 120 new jobs in Fort Gratiot.

The local restaurant will be operated by Ryan Weston, according to Chick-fil-A.

Plans for the new restaurant were first announced in November when construction was approved by the township. The site was previously occupied by a Golden Corral restaurant that has since been demolished.

The new restaurant will be in a 5,100 square foot building, include 70 indoor seats and 20 outdoor seats, as well as a two-lane drive thru.

"We look forward to serving new guests delicious food in an environment of genuine hospitality," Chick-fil-A Inc. said in its statement.
