CLAIM to Fame Season 2 winner Gabriel Cannon finally had his turn in the spotlight when he won the ABC show.

Gabriel sat down for an exclusive interview with The U.S. Sun to talk about what it was like having a brother like Nick Cannon and what the star told him before he went on Claim to Fame.

Claim to Fame is a reality show on ABC, where celebrity relatives enter a house and try to cover up their identity for a chance to win $100,000.

The show is hosted by Kevin and Franklin Jonas.

The U.S. Sun asked Gabriel how it felt to be out of Nick's shadow after winning.

"Like, man, y'all see me, right? Y'all see me, right?" he laughed.

"So after this, don't act like he's the only one. And forget that I just did all this tap dancing and spinning on ABC for all ten episodes, and had you laughing at us."

"I was excited, like finally, because, you know, sitting in the shadows, you get this front-row seat of everything of Kevin Hart's comedic timing. I'm recording the behind-the-scenes of Wild 'N Out for the seasons. We're able to watch these professionals, these greats, do their thing for years," Gabriel said.

"And you're just able to take notes and build your own skills, but, finally having time to express it, even beyond Nick, it was just for me, like God was saying, like, I didn't forget about you. I got you right here. Just keep pushing, so I loved it."

Gabriel also said that Nick supported him going on the show but joked that he "wanted his cut" anytime Claim to Fame was mentioned because he "wouldn't be on it without him."

    'YOU'VE GOT THIS!'

Even though Gabriel has been working alongside Nick, 43, for years in the entertainment industry, he still offered advice.

"It was more of like, 'You've got this. You've been grown for this. It's easy'," he said.

"'Knock it out. Don't make me look bad.' It was stuff like that."

"Like 'You've been waiting on this moment, so you know what to do with it. This is your time, and don't let don't let the other celebrity relatives beat you. I don't care who in that house,' stuff like that," Gabriel laughed.

    'BRING PROOF'

Gabriel also told The U.S. Sun that he often has to bring proof that he and Nick are related.

He said he had a strategy, so no one would figure him out.

Claim To Fame returned on July 10, 2024

Meet the cast of Season 3:

    • Adam, whose famous relative is a Grammy-winning actor
    • Bianca, whose famous relative is a Peabody Award-winning actress
    • Danny, whose famous relative is a Grammy-winning pro wrestler
    • Dedrick, whose famous relative is a singer
    • Gracie Lou, whose famous relative is an Emmy-winning actor
    • Hud, whose famous relative is a Grammy-winning singer
    • Jill, whose famous relative is a People's Choice Award-winning actor
    • Mackenzie, whose famous relative is a Tony-winning singer
    • Miguel, whose famous relative is an Oscar-winning actor
    • Naomi, whose famous relative is a Young Artist Award-winning singer
    • Shane, whose famous relative is an Oscar-winning actor

"I had a strategy, and I knew it because in life, I believe strongly life imitates art," Gabriel said.

"In life, nobody believes that I am Nick Cannon's brother. I mean, I would have to bring baby pictures - Nick sucking his thumb. Like, nobody believes that."

"So I knew it worked. I knew this was foolproof. Like, I got to bring proof to prove that I'm his brother in real life. So I knew that was a strategy for sure. It would take me far until the clues start coming out," he shared.

Gabriel told his fellow contestants he was related to a football player, throwing them all off.

When his clue, which had a dozen babies on it, was revealed, he said that he was going to pivot and say that he was related to Terry Crews since he was a TV dad, and both Terry and Nick hosted America's Got Talent.

Claim to Fame airs on Wednesdays at 9/8c on ABC and has already identified three celebrity relatives.
