We only had £100 to decorate our kitchen – it looks so different thanks to a lick of paint & second hand eBay items

YOU may think you need thousands to transform your kitchen - but it turns out you may just need a lick of paint and some secondhand items.

A couple shared how they completely changed the look of their bland kitchen with a few decorating essentials.

On their @2lesbiansandalickofpaint account, they shared the jaw-dropping before and after photos.

And the best part is they did it all for just £100.

They wrote: “How we transformed the kitchen of our new home for less than £100.”

The couple shared a photo they were given by the estate agent, with showed the plain, cream kitchen they were dealing with.

Nevertheless, they shared how they “saw the potential.”

They added: “It was bigger than what we were renting, so we loved it already.”

The first job they did was to change the look of the countertops by adding “wood effect vinyl” from B&Q.

The next job they did was to paint the cupboards and their backdoor with Frenchic paint, which costs around £21 for a 750ml tub.

The couple continued: “Had to take up a laminate floor and then tonnes of self levelling screed because it was making the kitchen damp.

“The kitchen floor felt like it was never going to come up clean.”

After weeks of hard work, they showed their terracotta tiled floor gleaming.

Next, they wrapped their fridge in a leopard print wrap, and added “cute” prints to the walls and got a second hand Smeg kettle from eBay.

One of their final jobs was to spray their handles gold instead of replacing them, to “stick to the budget.”

Finally they “colour drenched the walls and ceiling pink” and said they were “obsessed” with the finished result.

The couple said: “A few prints up and it really feels like home.

“Until we can save for a new kitchen one day, this will be just fine for now.”

Their hard work has not gone unnoticed and has racked up hundreds of likes.

One person said: “fab transformation.”

Another added: “Brilliant work! Looks like a totally different space. Well done.”

A third commented: “Well done saving the tiles.”

The couple added that a bathroom transformation would be next on their list.
