What are TikTok gifts?
TikTok allows users to present their favourite content creators with virtual gifts.
Sending e-gifts is a way that fans can interact with influencers and send donations to the content creator.
In exchange, creators often promise shout-outs on their live-streams, and even offer to follow fans back on social media.
The gifts are represented by different emoji symbols and the value of each icon will vary in price.
Fans can send digital gifts during live-streamed video sessions, which appear as on-screen animations.
How much are TikTok gifts worth in the UK?
Commonly-used TikTok gifts can cost between 1p to £48.99 each, with some of the newer additions costing even more.
Users have to purchase TikTok coins in order to tip their favourite influencer.
Coin packages range from 32p for 30 coins, to a whopping £26,500 for 2,500,000 coins.
Depending on how much the gift is worth, influencers will receive 50% of gift revenue earned.
A rose is one of the most common gifts and is worth one coin.
One coin is estimated to be worth around 1p.
According to Dexerto, the cost of purchasing each gift in virtual coins and their worth in pounds is as follows:

What is the TikTok Creator Fund?
ACCORDING to the TikTok official website, the Creator Fund "gives TikTok's best and brightest the opportunity to earn money with their creative talent."
While it is not a grant or ad revenue program, the Creator Fund provides payment to qualified TikTokers based on a "variety of factors" across their content.
"We want all creators to have the opportunity to earn money doing what they love and turn their passion into a livelihood," the website continues.
With no limit on the number of qualified TikTokers who can join the fund, payments may increase or decrease at different times throughout one's run on the platform.
Some factors affecting the funds a qualified TikToker may earn include number of authentic views per video, the amount of engagement, and whether or not the work falls within the Community Guidelines.
In 2019, TikTok updated its policy to state that only people aged 18 and over can purchase, send or receive gifts.
After growing concern about online safety, the EU launched an investigation into TikTok's alleged targeting and exploitation of children on the video-sharing platform in February 2024.
