Two ‘gang members’ charged with murder in Johnny Wactor’s shooting death as DA vows to ‘seek justice’ in ‘tragic’ crime

TWO men have been charged with murder after the killing of General Hospital actor Johnny Wactor.

On May 25, Wactor was shot and killed while walking with his coworker, Anita Joy, to their cars around 3:30 am in Los Angeles, California.

Four men were arrested in connection with Wactor’s death, and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office revealed the charges on Monday.

Robert Barceleau and Sergio Estrada, both 18, have been charged with one count of murder.

Barceleau was charged with one count of murder with special circumstances of murder during an attempted robbery and personal use of a firearm, one count of attempted robbery with personal use of a firearm, and one count of grand theft with an allegation of principal armed with a firearm.

Estrada was charged with one count of murder with an allegation of principal armed with a firearm, one count of attempted robbery with an allegation of principal armed with a firearm, and one count of grand theft with an allegation of principal armed with a firearm.

Leonel Guitierrez, 18, was charged with one count of attempted robbery with an allegation of principal armed with a firearm and one count of grand theft with an allegation of principal armed with a firearm.

Frank Olano, 22, was charged with one count of accessory after the fact of murder, one count of receiving stolen property, and three counts of being a felon with a firearm.

Barceleau is being held without bail while Estrada’s bail is set at $2,070,000.

Olano’s bail is set at $1,080,000 and Gutierrez’s at $120,000.

If convicted, Barceleau faces life in prison without parole with Estrada also facing a life sentence.

Olano could face about six years in prison with Guiterrez at about five years.

Earlier this month, TMZ reported that members of a gang called Florencia 13 were found in connection to the murder.

‘HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS’

On Monday, law enforcement sent out a press release to discuss the situation.

“Johnny Wactor’s life was senselessly taken while he was simply walking to his parked car in downtown Los Angeles, Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón said.

“We are committed to seeking justice for Mr. Wactor and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable for their actions.

Wactor's Career

The actor from Charleston, South Carolina, starred in General Hospital between 2020 and 2022.

His first appearance on the show was on January 30, 2020, as Brando Corbin, but he was written out two years later after his character was stabbed by an unknown killer.

However, before playing Corbin, Wactor started his acting career in 2007 by starring in Army Wives.

He also featured in NCIS, Criminal Minds, Station 19, The OA, and West World.

In 2016, he landed a movie role in USS Indianapolis: Men Of Courage, starring Nicolas Cage.

Wactor is set to feature in a new movie by Luca Perito called American Sognare, which is currently in post-production, according to IMDb.

“Mr. Wactor’s work and presence touched the lives of many, and our hearts go out to his family, friends, and the entire community who mourn this devastating loss.”

SCARY INCIDENT

As Wactor and coworker Anita Joy were approaching their vehicles , they caught three men trying to steal his catalytic converter.

At the time, police said that Robert Barceleau, 18, allegedly shot Wactor once in the chest and then fled the scene.

On August 15, the three men were taken into custody with a fourth person considered an accessory to the crime .

Wactor was born on August 31, 1986, in Charleston, South Carolina .

During his acting career, Wactor has starred in about 200 episodes of the iconic soap series and played the role of Brando Corbin.

Other shows the actor starred in include Army Wives, NCIS , and Criminal Minds.

He was 37 years old when he died.
