Tony Goldwyn leaves fans thirsting over appearance as the former TV president hosts first night of DNC

SHONDALAND fans were given quite a treat Monday when heartthrob actor Tony Goldwyn delivered remarks at the DNC.

The television star, who played President Fitzgerald Grant in Shonda Rhimes ‘ political drama Scandal, served as the DNC’s emcee for the evening.

“Hello, Chicago, and hello to everyone tuning in across America,” said Goldwyn , 64, as he stepped out in a crisp black suit and tie.

“Welcome to the first night of the Democratic National Convention.”

Goldwyn echoed the words of Kamala Harris that over the next four days the Democrats would be bringing several big names up on stage to encourage voters to vote for the vice president in the upcoming election.

“We are gonna talk about the choice America faces in this election,” Goldwyn continued.

“It’s not just a choice between two very different candidates, but between two very different futures.”

Despite enumerating several key points of what viewers could expect during the convention , many watching seemed preoccupied by Goldwyn’s good looks.

“Tony Goldwyn and his presidential strut will be the end of me,” one user posted on X .

“Lord why is Tony Goldwyn so damn fine,” a second person posted on the social media site.

“Can we just ask Tony Goldwyn to be real-life president,” questioned a third person.

One bold user claimed that Goldwyn “makes a way better Kennedy than RFK Jr.”

Goldwyn is one of several celebrities serving as the convention’s emcees.

The Ghost actor is joined by The View co-anchor Ana Navarro , Mindy Kaling , and his Scandal co-star Kerry Washington .

Earlier today, the actor sent many social media users into a frenzy when he was snapped shirtless while wearing a hat in support of Harris.

“Fitz—I mean Tony Goldwyn wearing Kamala Harris’ COMMA LA hat before the DNC… oh he’s locked in,” the post read .

Who is Tony Goldwyn?

Aside from his many iconic roles, Tony Goldwyn is more than just an actor.

Despite being in several iconic films such as Ghost and Tarzan, Goldwyn has a deep connection to the silver screen,

Goldwyn is the grandson of American film producer Samuel Goldwyn, who helped found the film studio Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, which produced several iconic movies such as The Wizard of Oz.

In 1986, Goldwyn debuted in his first film Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives.

The actor has had a prolific career in all areas across both stage and screen.

The picture prompted one person to comment that Goldwyn was “one of the most attractive men on the planet.”

According to the user, Goldwyn was “an archetype of hotness.”

“I swear he’s going to be fine forever,” another user said .

The DNC is scheduled to run Monday through Thursday at the United Center in Chicago , Illinois.

The event will serve to officially confirm Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee.

Several of the speakers at the event include former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton , President Joe Biden , and New York Governor Kathy Hochul .
