Travis Kelce hits back at Patrick Mahomes with brutal ‘Kermit the Frog impression’ after insane Kansas City Chiefs play

TRAVIS Kelce performed a brutal impression of Patrick Mahomes after his teammate took a playful shot at him.

Mahomes , 28, performed an incredible behind-the-back pass to Kelce during the Kansas City Chiefs ‘ 24-23 preseason loss to the Detroit Lions .

The moment occurred in the first quarter and resulted in Kelce getting a first down for the Chiefs after an eight-yard gain.

Two-time MVP Mahomes later went on to claim that he threw the pass “because he was “p***ed off” at his teammate, as Kelce had supposedly run the wrong route.

When Mahomes’ explanation was put to Kelce, the Chiefs tight end had some fun at the quarterback’s expense.

“It wasn’t a play? No it was a play, it was first down,” the 34-year-old began.

“You know he’s got the voice thing,” Kelce said, before mocking Mahomes by performing an exaggerated impression.

“He kinda mumbled out the play, I couldn’t hear it. I was walking up to the line, I was trying to decipher what he was saying.

“Before I knew it he snapped the ball and then I saw him out of my peripheral run to the sideline, so I was trying to help my guy out.

“By the time I looked over there he was already in mid-form like a photo on a sports card throwing the ball to me.

“So I guess it was right place at the right time.”

Fans loved Kelce’s brutal impression.

“No way Kelce just called Mahomes Kermit the Frog,” one wrote on X.

“Kelce doing his Mahomes voice is hilarious,” a second commented.

“OK, Kelce’s imitation is spot on. And hilarious,” a third posted.

“Kelce a tier 1 troll,” another added.

Jason Kelce also had some fun at his brother’s expense.

“This son of a gun actually did it!! Magic Mahomes,” Kelce initially posted on X after seeing the play.

Upon hearing Mahomes’ explanation, Jason took a sly dig at his sibling.

“If Pat starts throwing behind the back passes every time Travis runs the wrong route, this may be the most exciting year of football to date,” Jason posted .

Three-time Super Bowl champion Mahomes has been practicing the behind-the-back pass for a long time.

And earlier this year, he claimed that head coach Andy Reid wanted him to “throw it behind the back more than anyone in the world.”
