In February, NBC reportedly axed Jac , who had been the network’s play-by-play voice for Notre Dame football coverage.

Hicks was the reported replacement for the upcoming fall.

Collinsworth had served in the Fighting Irish role alongside analyst Jason Garrett since 2022.

NBC made it official Tuesday that Hicks will handled the play-by-play duties.

Hicks called Notre Dame games from 2011-16 and has been with the network since 1992.

The 62-year-old has been NBC’s leading golf voice and has experience broadcasting NFL and NBA games for the network.

Since 2020, Collinsworth has served as a reporter on Football Night in America as his dad works as a game analyst on Sunday Night Football.

Jac’s hiring as the top Notre Dame commentator came as a surprise to many as he brought little play-by-play experience at the time.

He worked on the 2024 Paris Olympics coverage.

Jac was the host of the daily show Gold Zone on NBC’s streaming platform Peacock.

The 29-year-old had three-year stint with ESPN before joining the company.

His father Cris – a former NFL wideout – first joined NBC in 1990.

Garrett is expected to maintain his game analyst role with Hicks this fall.

Noah Eagle and Todd Blackledge will be NBC’s main college football pair for the upcoming season.

The duo called two of Notre Dame’s primetime home games last season.

Eagle and Blackledge could call the Irish’s November contest against Florida State.

The pair’s primary focus has been Big Ten football games.

They worked NBC’s coverage of the special holiday NFL slate.

And Eagle and Blackledge was part of the network’s broadcast of Wild Card weekend during the 2024 NFL playoffs.

Notre Dame will begin their college football season against Texas A&M on Saturday.
