Late in the second quarter, Williams escaped from the pocket, looked for open receivers, and scrambled into the end zone for the touchdown.

HBO ‘s hit series Hard Knocks caught the sequence as viewers got to watch Williams while he had a microphone on.

The 2022 Heisman Trophy winner Williams let out a scream in the end zone as his teammates embraced him.

After the touchdown, the USC product put the football under his arm and didn’t let go of it.

The Bears signal-caller Williams then jogged back to the sidelines and to the team’s bench where he still had possession of the ball.

“Imma hold this,” Williams said to his nearby coaches and teammates.

“Imma hold it. Seven points baby.

“First one, baby. First one in the home.”

NFL fans, meanwhile, were in awe of Williams’ reaction to his first touchdown.

“He has the mindset to become a superstar QB!” one wrote.

“This is awesome,” a second stated.

“I mean just imagine how much Mahomes first NFL TD is worth now. I wouldn’t let that go either if I’m a rookie,” a third commented.

During that same touchdown drive, Williams made an incredible play with fellow rookie Rome Odunze.

Williams sput out of the pocket and threw the ball to Odunze on a 45-yard catch.

The 22-year-old’s day wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows, however, as he started with three straight three-and-outs before the Bears kicked a field goal.

Williams ended the game with 6-of-13 completions for 75 yards.

Chicago is now 2-0 in the preseason.

Bears head coach Matt Eberflus already revealed Williams will not play in Thursday’s preseason finale against the Kansas City Chiefs .

Williams’ next start will be on September 8 during Chicago’s regular-season opener versus the Tennessee Titans .
