Over twenty years ago, as he was leaving a store, the man found a "fat wallet" sitting in the middle of the cross walk.
He picked it up, looked around, and saw no one.
"While walking back to my car I hear a man frantically ask his wife where his wallet was," he wrote on Reddit.
"I asked what it looked like, he got the description correct, and I pulled it from my bag to hand it to him. That's when I saw the contents, it had to be over 2k," he added.
The owner insisted on giving him $100 for his kindness.
After he politely declined, the owner of the wallet pulled two more $100 and thrust them at him.
The owner informed the stranger that his wallet contained paperwork for a new Porsche.
Without his wallet, the owner wouldn't have been able to receive the new car.
"I don't care about the damn money, this has my paperwork for a Porsche I bought. Can't get the car without it," he exclaimed.
The lucky stranger said he took the cash and thanked the owner for his generosity.
"I had bought my girlfriend a valentines gift, which was $50, so I got paid to holiday shop," he wrote online.
