Each show at the Ernst Happell Stadium was expected to draw crowds of around 65,000 Swifties.
Six-year-old Bebe King, seven-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe, and nine-year-old Alice Da Silva Aguiar were all killed, while another six kids were critically injured.
Axel Muganwa Rudakubana , 18, was later charged with three counts of murder, and accused of another 10 counts of attempted murder and possession of a bladed article.
The events of the past month have understandably taken their toll on both Swift and Kelce , a source told Life & Style .
“Travis is advising her to make her own safety a top priority and wants her to get even more security,” they claimed.
“He can’t do much else, aside from pray that she’ll be OK.”
As a result of the tragic events, Swift and Kelce have also been made increasingly “aware of how quickly things can change and reminded them how precious life is.”
“Money isn’t everything and Travis is proud of Taylor for doing the right thing and canceling her shows,” they added.
“Putting her life and the lives of her fans at risk simply isn’t worth it, no matter how disappointing it is for people or how much money it cost her.”
Throughout the past month, Kelce has had to support Swift from across the pond, with the tight end knee-deep in training camp with the Kansas City Chiefs .
Being unable to help and left waiting has reportedly been “horrible” for Kelce who “wanted to rush to her side to protect her.”
“Anyway, she had plenty of bodyguards to keep her safe, but still, it left him feeling pretty helpless,” they added.
Swift described having to cancel the shows as “devastating,” going on to say, “The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many people had planned on coming to those shows.”
She also took the opportunity to thank the local authorities for their work, saying, “Thanks to them, we were grieving concerts and not lives.”
The Eras Tour will return on October 18 when the Cruel Summer singer is scheduled to take to the stage in Miami.
She will head abroad once more to conclude the blockbuster tour with dates in Vancouver and Toronto between November 14 and December 8.
Meanwhile, Kelce will return to the gridiron with his eyes on a third consecutive Super Bowl title on September 5 when the Chiefs host the Baltimore Ravens .
