Labeled Team Mahomes , the inaugural group of athletes all ply their trade at his alma mater, Texas Tech.

This first class is comprised of Micah Hudson, NiJaree Canady, Jasmine Shavers, Matthew Comegys, Sam Courtwright, and TJ Pompey.

The student-athletes were all gifted custom Mahomes/Adidas gear during a surprise visit, as per the manufacturer .

Mahomes also featured in an announcement video with the athletes, sharing his excitement at their decisions to “join the squad” before advising them to “always find the harmony in the chaos.”

“The energy around this partnership has been incredible, and this announcement shows just how important this is to me, Adidas and Texas Tech,” the three-time Super Bowl champion said.

“Adidas has been a collaborative partner from the start, and we worked together to select athletes who are among the best and embody the drive and dedication we’re looking for in a Team Mahomes athlete.

“We’ve got a lot of great stuff coming up for the Red Raiders – stay tuned for more.”

All six members of Team Mahomes quickly took to Instagram to celebrate the big news, saying they felt “proud,” “blessed,” and “excited” to have joined the class.

While the man himself wrote , “Wreck ‘Em…Proud to announce the inaugural @adidas Team Mahomes NIL class.”

Mahomes’ wife Brittany also celebrated the news in a Stories post, captioning it, “Such a special day at a special day.”

News of Team Mahomes broke a day after Texas Tech announced that their former quarterback and Brittany made a sizable donation to their stadium rejuvenation project .

Known as “the historic Campaign for Fearless Champions,” the $242 million project is working on reimagining the South End Zone and constructing the new Dustin R. Womble Football Center at Jones AT&T Stadium.

Mahomes’ donation of $5 million means the university has managed to raise $115 million to date.

As a thank you to Mahomes, the Red Raiders’ new walkthrough area, quarterback meeting room, and the offensive coordinator’s office will all be named in his honor.

“When we first launched this campaign, Patrick was only a freshman and now it is fitting that we approach the end of the campaign with a gift of his own,” Texas Tech’s Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt stated.

Patrick Mahomes earns over $50 million per season from his Kansas City Chiefs contract.

But the superstar quarterback also cashes in on his brand off the field.

Mahomes has a reported net worth of $70 million.

And that’s in no small part down to some of the brand he endorses.

The Chiefs star is the face of Adidas in the United States and appears in State Farm commercials.

He also pops up on adverts for Subway and Head and Shoulders.

Mahomes also became the face of energy drink Prime, which is owned by Logan Paul and KSI.

“We couldn’t be prouder to announce this gift from Patrick and Brittany Mahomes.

“We are so proud of Patrick for all he has accomplished and how he has continually supported Texas Tech on a global scale.”

Texas Tech and Adidas recently announced a new 10-year sponsorship deal.

This will see Adidas provide the athletics department with its footwear, uniforms, apparel, and accessories.

The Adidas logo now features prominently on the Red Raiders’ football field, along with the school logo, and Mahomes’ own logo.
