The couple snapped up the 1950s-era midcentury modern home for $29.5 million, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal , citing people familiar with the deal.
The 6,200-square-foot property was originally listed for $49.5 million last year, the newspaper reported on Tuesday, August 27.
The house, designed by late architect and experienced surfer Henry Gessner, was previously owned by Mo Ostin, the legendary record executive who led Warner Bros. for 22 years.
Mo, who died in 2022, purchased the property in the late ’80s.
The U.S. Sun has contacted Karlie and Joshua’s representatives for comment.
Harry Gesner’s son, and one of the property’s listing agents, Zen Gesner said that British rockstar Rod Stewart was one of the house’s most famous occupants.
Zen, who grew up next door to Sir Rod, described the now-79-year-old musician as a great neighbor, recalling how he would dance on the deck of the Wave House.
The sprawling residence, which has been compared to the Sydney Opera House, has six bedrooms and eight bathrooms.
It is perched on stilts above the beach, offering its inhabitants scenic, unparalleled views of the ocean as far as the eyes can see.
Henry designed the house to emulate cresting waves, as the visionary architect famously paddled out to the surf break in front of the property and sketched its plans from his surfboard.
Dubbed the “Maverick of Malibu,” self-taught architect Henry drew inspiration from the ocean and the California landscape when designing homes.
His most notable creation, the “Wave House” was designed in 1957 and consists of different elements that pay homage to the ocean.
For instance, the property’s three wraparound wooden decks were designed to “echo the shape of the incoming surf”, according to Realtor.com .
The Malibu mansion’s roof features “hand cut copper shingles” that resemble fish scales.

Zen Gesner, son of late architect Henry Gesner
Zen previously told The Wall Street Journal that his father Henry, who died in 2022 at the age of 97, wanted the home to “have the look of a giant wave at the very peak of its strength.”
“If you were surfing or on a boat fishing, you’d look back at the shore and see this really organic design that looked like a wave approaching the ocean,” he added, explaining the origins of the house’s name.
Inside, the house has five upper-level bedrooms and a lavish primary suite, fitted with its own hot tub and sauna.
The property also comprises a small guesthouse and garage.
In addition to the “Wave House”, Karlie and Joshua also bought a 15,000-square-foot mansion in Malibu in 2020.
One year later, they purchased a New York City penthouse in the Puck Building, a project being developed by Joshua’s family company, the Kushner Real Estate Group.
He founded venture capital firm Thrive Capital which has invested in high-profile tech companies like Spotify, Instagram, and GitHub.
Karlie and Joshua met in 2012 when she was 19 and he was 26.

The couple, who share two children, have largely kept the details of their romance private.
Karlie opened up about falling in love with Joshua during a rare interview about their relationship, in an interview with Metro US .
“I was definitely not planning on falling in love, but I think that’s the thing about it. You can’t anticipate or plan it,” the founder of Kode with Klossy said.
