THE NFL has announced some big broadcast changes coming for the upcoming season.

In-game coach and coordinator interviews from both teams will be available for media rights-holder partners, The Athletic’s Richard Deitsch reported.

The NFL has revealed how the coach interviews will work this upcoming season.

“When requested by the televising network, both clubs must make available the head coach or either offensive or defensive coordinator for an in-game, on-camera interview at the end of quarter breaks or at halftime,” an NFL spokesperson told NBC .

“All of the clubs are going to have to make a head coach available live for an interview during the game, and [e]ach team has to provide a head coach,” said Cathy Yancy, NFL vice president of broadcasting rights.

Additionally, media rights-holder partners can now air some pregame team locker room footage before kickoff, Deitsch added .

An NFL fan shared their thoughts on the news on X, writing, “Pregame locker room video should be cool.”

“I first admired its use in Australian rugby league action, not sure the in-game interviews are worth it though,” the fan continued.

This comes after the NFL Players Association recently attempted to restrict the media’s access to locker rooms.

NFL players wanted reporters to interview them in a different setting following games and during practice weeks.

“What I was hoping to achieve on behalf of the membership is … to accurately articulate how they feel,” Lloyd Howell, the NFLPA’s executive director, said during a meeting with Washington Post reporters and editors last month.

“And they do not want to be interviewed when they’re naked. [And] to open the door for doing some solutioning of what could be more effective.”

Howell said the NFLPA wasn’t trying to prevent reporters and media members from doing their jobs or limit the amount of individuals who have access to them.

“I’ve heard and I’ve seen all the reasons why the media is hesitant or resistant to changing it: [Players] duck out of the back,” Howell said.

“They don’t want to do the interview. The list goes on and on.

“But there are other ways to kind of address those challenges, too.

With this season’s schedule now revealed, eager NFL fans are looking to secure tickets to their favorite games.

You can start buying tickets for some games on several sites now:

Before purchasing tickets on resale websites check pricing as they are third-party sellers and, importantly, the cost can vary depending on demand. You may pay more than an official ticket, though you can also get good last-minute deals too.

But if you can’t be there in person, don’t worry, there’s still time to set up your stream before the season starts.

You can also keep up to date with the latest NFL coverage right here at The U.S. Sun.

“The desire isn’t in any way to prevent [reporters from having access to players]. The desire is, ‘Let me be decent.’”

As of right now, the NFL has not adjusted any locker room protocols for the players.

Changes are also being implemented on the field for the 2024 NFL season.

There will also be changes to the onside kick this upcoming season .

There will be no element of surprise on an onside kick attempt next season after the NFL ruled that teams must announce it before they try.

Additionally, the new rule prevents teams from attempting an onside kick in the first three quarters of the game.

And finally, they will only be allowed by a team that is behind in points.

An onside kick is when one team purposely kicks the football a short distance and attempts to regain possession of it.

The new rules were announced in March, NBC News reported, but many fans are just learning what it means.
